Send Money Utilizing An Online Banking Account

Bank From Anywhere in the World

One of the great advantages of an Internet checking account is the ability to write checks at your convenience, save on postage, certify that checks are cashed, and to set up payment schedules for bills. Once the account is setup, it is easy and convenient to write checks anywhere.

Instructions

1. Go online and navigate to your online account. You may need to call or visit the bank to set up online banking.

On the bank's online site, find the tab for online banking and then click on it. Read the directions for adding persons to the account.

2. Add individuals, corporations, and other creditors. Make certain the mailing addresses for each account is correct. The bank can stop a check but will assume no responsibility for delivering checks that do not have proper instructions. You will be prompted to choose a nickname for the account. Use a name that relates the check to it's purpose. Enter an account number to reference the check. There is no way to print a message on the check.

3. Check your work. After entering the appropriate information, make certain all the information, including the amount of the check is correct. Do not skip this step as there is no easy way to correct this mistake once the check is entered. It is best to prepare a check a few days in advance and choose the mailing date for the check. That way it is possible to change incorrect information. Once entered, however, you will not need to enter the information again.

4. Pay two bills to the same creditor with two accounts. Do not switch back and forth and re-enter information. Avoid errors with this technique. Set up prepayment schedules for all purchases immediately for the life of the payments. The money is withdrawn from your account the day the check is mailed. Thus the recipient is receiving a bank check with guaranteed funds. For every new account wait a week to ten days and ascertain that the check was in fact cashed.

5. Guard your account carefully as you would with physical checks. If you share your password in an emergency, change it immediately thereafter. Check with your employer and see if your paycheck can be directly deposited into the account.
