After writing for more than eight years I've discovered many ways to brainstorm new article ideas, and today I'll like to share some of my brainstorming secrets with you. Just apply my step-by-step instructions to your next brainstorming session, and the next time you sit down to pound out a few articles for your dream markets you'll have a variety of ideas to choose from.
Instructions
1. Surf to the Google Adwords keyword tool and type keywords related to your niche topic in the search field.
2. Read through the suggestions and you'll begin filling your article idea list with topics to write about. For example, typing parenting tips into Google's keyword research tool could result in these ideas: Christian parenting tips, homework tips for parents and teens, and parenting tips. To add to those tips, you could type one of the above ideas into the search field for more article ideas on your niche topics such as Christian Bible study.
3. Scan the headlines of some of your favorite publications and tweak the more attractive headlines to fit your niche. After scanning the December 2007 issue of Writer's Digest, I discovered a headline that read "Query Madness," which sparked "Homework Madness: 10 Ways to Make Homework Fun for Your Child."
4. Call your friends and family and ask them for ideas.
5. Read other articles related to your niche topics and ask yourself how you can expand on that author's advice in an article of your own. Did the author fail to mention something? What did he or she not tell you that you wished they had? There you have it: five simple ways to create article ideas on your niche topics. Now, grab your notebook and pen and begin with the first step.
