Risographs, which are now known simply as Risos, are high-speed duplicating machines most often used in commercial print shops, schools and large churches. The appeal of duplicators is their very low cost per page when compared to copiers or printers. The higher the number of copies or "duplicates" that a duplicator makes, the lower the cost per copy.
Color Printers
Risograph color printers can print full color documents up to 150 pages per minute. This very high copy speed is due to the duplicator using a "no-heat and no-impact" ink jet printing system. Some Riso color printers can be equipped with PostScript print boards that can handle advanced graphic applications.
Digital Duplicators
From the low-end CZ180, which produces copies at a speed of up to 130 pages per minute, to the RZ990, with output speeds of up to 180 pages per minute, Riso has several models with various features and speeds. The MZ1090 and the MZ790 both offer single-pass, two-color printing.
Older Models
Riso has numerous older models that are no longer in production. Depending on the model, some Risos offer changeable ink that allows for printing in multiple colors. All models are high speed, ranging from 75 pages per minute to 150 pages per minute.
