A trade show is a major event that requires a sigificant amount of investment in time and money in order to be successful. Choosing a them is critical, and as a participant, you want to choose something that ties in with the overall theme of the show. Be sure to give yourself at least a month to plan and gather all the necessary materials.
Instructions
1. Look at the trade show exhibitor packet. This should provide you with the size of your space, your position, as well as the theme of the show itself. Make sure you understand the theme of the show and your relationship to the exhibitors around you. You could use them as partners if they are not direct competitors.
2. Think of a sub-theme that you could use as your platform in relation to the show itself. Perhaps you are going to a bridal expo and the theme is "Modern Solutions for the Traditional Bride." If you are a travel agent, you could choose a theme such as "Space Exploration for Your Honeymoon" or "Modern Cities to Fall In Love With."
3. Once you have a sub-theme, communicate this information to your graphic designer or marketing department. They can come up with appropriate materials for the show.
4. Approve all necessary materials and send them off to be printed.
5. Add finishing touches such as promotional items, music to play at your booth, and giveaways. Raffling off prizes every hour gives people a reason to come to your booth. This is a great way to get traffic and contact information for potential customers.
