Write A Strategic Business Plan Template For Any Cable Funnel

All business plans have the same fundamental parts and serve the same purpose. They document an overview of your business before you start business operations. This forces you to investigate all angles of the venture so you can judge if you are capable of being successful with the business you have chosen. It also provides a map for you to follow as you progress. A business plan for a Cable Company could resemble the following.

Instructions

1. Provide a cover page and a table of contents. Put the logo of the new cable channel on the cover page. Let's say the station will revolve around sports so we name it The Gladiator Network. The logo is two Roman gladiators locked in battle. Insert the table of contents after you know everything the business plan will provide.

2. Place your executive summary here. This is generally a one paragraph summary of what your business will be. So you might write "The Gladiator Network proudly brings to you the greatest sporting channel ever conceived of. With our first run content of both professional and college games mixed with our Relive The Moment series covering historic moments across the sports universe we plan to provide countless hours of entertainment at affordable prices."

3. List general information on the company's ownership. State who formed the company and when. In this case the company will be a corporation so list how many shareholders are there. If it is a publicly traded company on the stock market say so. Roll call the board of directors.

4. Include information on the cable television industry as a whole via charts and graphs. Statistics demonstrating how sports ratings on television are through the roof and growing will work well here. Break down your target audience by showing how the demographics are out there and starved for more sports. Thus you are confident that you will provide a much needed service with The Gladiator Network.

5. Detail the financial aspects of the company. Estimate start up costs including how much equipment you will need to buy as well as how many employees you will need to hire and keep on staff to run a top-flight cable station. Begin to keep track of things like cash flow and overhead while at the same time outline how you plan to keep the business running smoothly financially during the first five years.

6. Devise a marketing plan to get the word out on the streets about the new network. Show in writing how you have already earmarked a large sum for an extensive ad campaign. Plan to buy air time on similar stations and networks to tout the start date for the new venture. Visit morning and day-time talk shows to talk about the launch. Schedule radio interviews on various sports stations across the country to discuss how excited you are at the thought of The Gladiator Network.
