Alter The Time On The Pitney Bowes 9830

You may need to change the time on your Pitney Bowes 9830 Fax Machine after a power outage, or if you unplug the machine for more than a few minutes. It is not necessary to change the time for daylight savings time; the machine automatically adjusts itself. The Pitney Bowes 9830 uses the 24-hour time format (sometimes called "military time") in its programming mode. Familiarize yourself with this format before attempting to change the time (see "Resources" if necessary).

Instructions

1. Press the "Function" button. When the display shows "Function #," press "8" then "Yes."

2. Press "Yes" again when the display shows "System Setup." Enter your passcode if the feature is enabled. If you do not know the passcode, contact Pitney Bowes for assistance (see Tips).

3. Press "Yes" when the display shows "Enter Date/Time?" Type the current date and time in the following format: month/day/year/hours/minutes.

For example, to set the date and time to March 10, 2010, 6:30 p.m. enter "0310101830" (the time is entered using the 24-hour format, not the 12-hour format). Enter only the last two digits of the year.

4. Press "Yes" to save the changes to the date and time. Press "Stop" to exit the programming menu.
