Take Lower A Larger Person Than You

Learn to defend yourself against a bigger opponent.


Try as you might to avoid the situation, there may come a time when you'll have to take down someone that's bigger than you are. It's important that you don't lose the fight before you begin by feeling small and disempowered. Instead, treat any opponent as your equal. Focus on where they might not be so strong, and tackle one weakness at a time.


Instructions


1. Tire out your opponent by moving quickly from one spot to another. Set a good pace for yourself and become a difficult target. You might have to run in circles for a while, but it will be worth it to diminish the strength of the bigger person.


2. Appear confident even if you are intimidated and afraid. Stay focused and demonstrate that you're serious.


3. Get in close and then wrap your arms around your opponent's body. Lock your arms in that position to keep the opponent from getting away from you. You'll know it is time to do this when the bigger person becomes tired and struggles with breathing. Stay low, and aim for the waist.


4. Use all your strength to push the bigger person down to the ground. At the same time, use your feet to trip the bigger person and make them fall. This may seem daunting at first. But once the person has lost balance, you gain the advantage. Continue to push downward until you can pin the bigger person face down.
