A sponsorship proposal should clearly state the purpose of the request.

A sponsorship proposal is a document written by one party to gain a sponsorship from another party. A sponsorship is used to gain money to help accomplish a goal or activity. This proposal is a way of convincing a party to fund the project on which you are working. The proposal says why you are requesting the sponsorship, the money needed and how sponsorship will benefit the sponsor. This letter must convince the potential donor that your sponsorship proposal is a good idea.

Instructions

1. Describe the nature of your organization. State who you are and what benefits your organization or activity provides to people. It should clearly state your credentials and responsibilities. It should also explain whom this project will help and in what ways people, or the community, will benefit from it.

2. Explain why this project will be a success. Companies do not want to give money to projects that fail. Explain in detail why you believe this effort will be successful and exactly how the donated money will be spent.

3. State the benefits the sponsorship will provide to the prospective sponsor's company. Explain in detail all value the sponsor's business will receive and the impact the project will have on the community. If you have an upcoming event regarding the project, invite the prospective sponsor to the event.

4. Offer to work with the company. By offering to work with the company's public relations team, you show the company you are willing to promote the company's name throughout the project. This shows dedication and appreciation to the company. The proposal should also state that you are open to suggestions about how advertising would most effectively benefit the company, and that you are willing to work in a combined effort with the company.

5. Edit your letter. A sponsorship proposal should be limited to one page, but should provide a lot of important details and information. Read and reread the proposal many times, ensuring there are no grammatical or spelling errors. It's also important to read it several times to ensure that all key factors are included in it.
