Write Copy For Any Trifold Sales brochure

Trifold brochures can help you sell more of your product or service.


Brochures are printed marketing pieces that help you communicate important information about the products or services your company sells. The most common type of brochure is the "trifold," which consists of three panels on both the front and back sides. When writing copy for a brochure, there are several important considerations to keep in mind. One overall principle that will help you when writing is to focus on the benefits, which are the reasons why the customer should buy your product or service.

1. Write the front cover. Write a headline that invites the reader to open the brochure and keep reading. Some companies simply list the name of their company and include their company logo, which is a mistake. The purpose of the cover is to entice the reader to keep reading; the way to do this is to communicate the biggest benefit of your product or service. For example, a brochure for a car may focus on a safety benefit, such as "Protect your family with the midsized sedan that earned the highest 2011 safety ratings in the automotive industry."


2. Write the inside front panel. Once you capture the reader's interest with the cover, the next page he will see is the inside front panel. Here you should reiterate the benefit you stated on the cover with substantiated data. Summarize why the customer should choose your product or service and provide expert testimonials. Using the example of a car with high safety ratings, include information about the safety tests conducted for your vehicle and provide expert quotes or testimonies regarding the safety of your product.


3. Write the next three inside panels. One panel should contain a brief description of what your company does. Provide a list of your products and services and include a paragraph that details your competitive advantages. Another panel should describe how you typically work with your clients. For example, for an automotive company, include information about the buying process and how your process is better than your competitors. Another panel should contain the other features and benefits specific to the product or service you are selling.


4. Write the back cover. The most important point to remember when writing the back cover of a trifold brochure is to include a "call to action," which is the next step you want the reader to take. For example, "Call 1-555-1212 today and ask about our rapid rewards program" or "Go to ourwebsite.com/brochure to get a one-time 15% discount on any one product on our website. Give the reader a reason to take the next step and make it easy for her to do so. Close the brochure by including all your company contact information, including postal address, email address, phone and fax number.
