Prepare To Utilize A Transcriber

Prepare to Use a Transcriber

Preparing to use and operate a transcriber requires a minimal time investment so that you can convert recorded meetings or dictations to hard copy.

Instructions

1. Determine which kind of transcriber you will be using. The different kinds of transcribers available on the market include the medical transcriber, the legal transcriber, the general voice transcriber and the micro cassette transcriber.

2. Decide what needs your business has a transcriber for. Will it be for transcription of medical notes? Dictating legal documents? Or, perhaps, to log a detailed account of the company's financial transactions? Determining this up front will help you familiarize yourself with the transcriber controls you will be using most often.

3. Find out what skills are required to operate the transcription machine. Consider obtaining a license or certification.

4. Locate business schools or local community colleges that offer classes or training seminars on using transcribers and other business machines.

5. Take an Internet class or tutorial on basic transcriber operation.

6. Contact your local Chamber of Commerce for transcribing machine training courses available through membership services.
